Knock, knock. Does anyone read blogs anymore? Does anyone write blogs anymore? There’s a certain nostalgia for the days when blogging was one of the most active, living, breathing, thriving creative mediums on the internet.

So here we are, after I caught myself — yet again — working overtime to get through an ever-growing to-do list, all while contemplating the personal creative projects I could be focusing on instead. Like this collection of photos from March that had yet to see the light of the internet, always pushed aside by other priorities.

The reality is that when you spend your whole day staring at a computer screen, the last thing you want to do afterwards is stare at a computer screen even more. And you know what? That list will never grow shorter until you put it aside and say ‘enough’.

Here’s me saying ‘enough’ and giving in to the memories of a place that made the soul sing. Or perhaps it was just the wind, dancing with the eldest daughter on Spain’s oldest island.

The name Maria traces its roots back to ancient Rome, where it originated from the Latin word mare, meaning sea. In Latin, Maria can be understood to signify Of the Sea, symbolizing its association with water and its vastness. However, the name also carries another connotation, representing a bitter taste. This dual meaning could reflect the contrasting qualities often attributed to the sea its beauty and tranquility, as well as its unpredictable and relentless nature.

Our closest companion, the Moon. On an island, its magic ever so visible, as the ocean tides dutifully follow the rhythm of gravity.

Colours & sounds

Two distinct components of a trip to a land far away from the concept of normality. Soft blue, creamy chocolate, coral white of the popcorn rhodoliths slipping through the hands holding a yoga position… and the laughter of new friends singing karaoke. Take it from the top!

To be continued.

Dear Gabriele Marija,
